RideScout is providing vast transportation options to bustling communities. Getting from point A to point B in the United States is easier than our ancestors ever envisioned. The introduction of the personal automobile removed most barriers to personal and family mobility, creating today’s situation where the majority of drivers commute in 5-passenger vehicles with only a single occupant. Many drivers are looking for alternatives to their transportation needs.
RideScout (formerly GoingMyWay) is a smart mobile application, developed here in Austin, that provides riders with information on all ride options around them, becoming the conduit of ground transportation information. This allows users to search and compare options on-demand. The application searches nearby buses, subways, taxis, car-sharing, and carpooling programs, in real time, and displays all relevant rides on one easy to use mobile interface. This allows the user to choose the most convenient ride option for them given their specific circumstance and context.
With the integration of social networks, users can easily locate and offer/accept rides from their friends on Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. RideScout is the only application that aggregates all ride options and is 100% supplier agnostic. Users can quickly sort options by both time and cost.
CabForward℠ was instrumental in adding additional modes of ground transportation to an already robust list of options. RideScout now sets the bar for all future transit apps.
