I was feeling pretty good about getting my “to do” list pared down, and start feeling a little more like I could actually regain a bit of control over all my tasks by moving from all my sticky notes to the organizer on my iPhone. It was during this process I felt a tug on the ropes as Lance called and said, “Oh, by the way, a COO also is responsible for project management, resource management, proposal writing, business development, search engine optimization for the website, and, of course, marketing. So, you need to work those into your day, too. I also signed you up for a series of on-line training courses, to help you out.”
So, here I am trying to learn six new software packages while developing content for the website, while also attempting to organize some structure around all the tasks on my list, let alone prioritize them! At this point I’m pretty sure I had no clue what I was getting into! I have so many ideas swirling around in my head . . . disjointed ideas that are only fragments of solutions . . . they keep me awake at night. I’m afraid to go to sleep because I might roll over on my side and let them all drain out! 🙂
Meanwhile, we continue to grow the business and are adding on-demand Ruby on Rails developers here in Austin to meet our customer’s timelines. Things are coming together for our new website, and we’ll be rolling it out shortly. I still have some content development to do for some of the topics we want to include, so I’d better get back to that. I think the days are certainly long enough around here, they just aren’t quite wide enough to fit everything in!
